The Results of Marian Anderson's Actions
The results of Marian Anderson's actions led to a whole new path for singers and civil rights movements. Anderson showed many people the unfairness and discrimination that was going on around them, and because she was a public icon, anyone was able to see it. She showed people what type of treatment organizations were giving her, like when the DAR wouldn't allow her to perform in Constitution Hall.
Anderson created a scholarship for people with talent and a strive to make society better. These scholarships had no restictions on who could recieve them, so the person could be black or white. A woman who recieved this award was Oprah Winfrey, a big role model in modern times. She recieved the award because she has continuously strived to make societies better everywhere, especially for women. Anderson also became a role model. She inspired young people to sing. She had many admirable qualities which inspired African American musicians to do great works and exel in the business. Marian Anderson left a print in the music business paving the way for musicians, especially African Americans, and paved the way for Civil Rights movements.
